New antibiotic hutarekishin and its manufacturing method

NEW MATERIAL:Phthalexin shown by the formula. USE:An antibiotic exhibiting antimicrobial effects on various microorganisms, useful for preventing and treating human and animal diseases and plant blights and capable of further raising effects thereof by using the antibiotic together with an azole-based or arylamine-based antifungal agent. PREPARATION:A fungus, preferably Eupenicillium parvum SANK strain 23887 (FERM P-9955), belonging to the genus Eupenicillium, capable of producing phthalexin, is cultivated by a culture method applied in a common microorganism and solid part such as cell is removed to give a culture solution, from which a compound shown by the formula is extracted and purified by utilizing physical and chemical properties thereof to isolate the compound shown by the formula.
