PURPOSE:To rapidly and readily provide the lysogenized components of bacteria in dejection used for the examination of the bacteria, etc., without requiring any complicated operation by suspending a specimen such as the dejection containing water- insoluble solid contents and the bacteria, stepwisely filtering the prepared suspension to hold the bacteria on a filter and lysogenizing the bacteria with a lysogenization solution. CONSTITUTION:A specimen such as dejection containing water-insoluble solid contents and bacteria together is suspended in an aqueous medium to prepare a specimen solution 3, which is sucked and subsequently subjected to a press-filtration treatment using a filtration device 1 having a membrane-like filter comprising Tetron (RTM, polyester fibers) mesh 6, a glass wool layer 5, a glass fiber filtration paper 4, etc., and having hole diameters of 0.45mum with a syringe 2. The prepared filtrate 10 containing bacteria is charged in an cylindrical container 9 connected with a holder 7 setting a membrane-like filter 8 comprising a glass fiber filtration paper having hole sizes of 0.2-1.6mum, etc., therein and subsequently suction-filtered with a pump 11 to hold the bacterial on the membrane filter 8. The held bacteria are lysogenized with a lysogenization solution to provide the lysogenized components of the bacteria.
