PURPOSE: To produce the cemented carbide material combined with different compsns. having high hardness and high toughness in combination by successively packing cemented carbide powder consisting of a high-hardness compsn. and cemented carbide powder consisting of a high-toughness compsn. into a metallic mold, forming a cemented carbide powder mixture layer therebetween, compression molding the powders and sintering the molding. ;CONSTITUTION: A desired ant. of the cemented carbide powder 1 consisting of the relatively high-hardness compsn. is injected from a feeder 6 into the metallic mold 5 and a lower punch 8 is lowered to pack the powder into the lower half part of the mold 5. Further, a desired amt. of the cemented carbide powder 2 consisting of the relatively high-toughness compsn. is injected from an other feeder 7 into the metallic mold and packed therein to form the cemented carbide powder mixture layer 3 in the boundary part between both powders 1 and 2. The powders are then uniformly compression molded by a lower punch 8 and the upper punch 9 to form a series of the high-density compressed body 10a of the different compsns. consisting of respective high-density compressed bodies 1a, 3a, 2a. Further, the compressed bodies are sintered in a sintering furnace and are integrally molded to a series of the composite sintered compact 10b of sintered hard alloys consisting of the respective sintered compacts 1b, 3b, 2b of the cemented carbide.
