PURPOSE:To use a prepaid card through effective utilization of a coin type ball exchanger and medal exchanger by a method wherein a coin discriminating device and an input output circuit connectable to a prepaid card R/W are respectively mounted to a control device, and the coin discriminating device and the prepaid card are connected to the input output circuit when occasion demands. CONSTITUTION:A coin discriminating device 11 and a prepaid R/W 22 is connectable to a control device 2, having the coin discriminating device 11, through dn input output circuit. Therefore, when the coin discriminating device 11 and the prepaid card R/W 22 are connected to an input output circuit, an article can be lent when either a coin or a prepaid card is used. When only the prepaid card R/W 22 is connected to the input output circuit, a device is changed from a device for the exclusive use of a coin to a device for the exclusive use of a prepaid card, and an article can be lent. Since the prepaid card R/W 22 and the coin discriminating device 11 are connectable to a control device having the prepaid card R/W 22 through the input output circuit, when the prepaid card R/W 22 and the coin discriminating device 11 are connected to the input output circuit, an article can be lent even when either a prepared card or a coin is used.
