INDUSTRIAL ANTISEPTIC/ANTIFUNGAL AGENT AND PUTREFACTION-/ FUNGUS-PROOFING METHOD

PURPOSE: To provide the subject antiseptic/antifungal agent having highly excellent synergistic effect, comprising a combination of a tetraalkyl thiuram disulfide and 2-(thiocyanomethylthio)benzothiazole both among various such industrial agents. ;CONSTITUTION: The objective industrial antiseptic/antifungal agent consisting of a combination of (A) a tetraalkyl thiuram disulfide of the formula (R is 1-4C straight chain or branched alkyl) and (B) 2-(thiocyanomethylthio) benzothiazole at the weight ratio A/B of (4:1) to (1:9). It is preferable that putrefaction-/fungus-proofing operation be conducted by using the components A and B either simultaneously or separately so as to come to a total of 5-3000ppm of this agent. Combined use of the above two compounds A and B gives highly excellent synergistic antiseptic/antifungal effect. This effect can be manifested even in the presence of a reductive substance. This agent is, in general, often be used in the form of a liquid, being applied on starch pastes, adhesives, papermaking wet pulp, machining oil, coatings, etc.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO&Japio
