SKIN PROTECTANT CONTAINING ASPALATHUS LINEARIS EXTRACT AND DETERGENT COMPOSITION

PURPOSE:To obtain the title composition which has excellent cleaning ability and is less apt to cause hand chapping by mixing a skin protectant containing an Aspalathus Linearis as an active ingredient with detergent ingredients. CONSTITUTION:A tree of Aspalathus Linearis, which is a fabaceous conifer growing in the south of Africa, is powdered. The powder is extracted with water, an organic solvent (e.g. ethanol), etc., and the extract is purified by, e.g. filtration. A skin protectant containing this extract as an active ingredient is incorporated into ingredients for an ordinary detergent composition to produce the title composition. The content of the extract in this composition is desirably 0.001-40wt.%, preferably 0.01-30wt.%, on a solid basis. According to need, a polyhydric alcohol, an aloe extract, etc., can be further incorporated.
