TEMPERATURE CONTROL METHOD FOR VERTICAL TYPE INDUCTION HEATING FURNACE

PURPOSE:To provide the temp. control method for a vertical type induction heating furnace by compensating the temp. fall of a slab by the heat resistant hearth hardware of the vertical type induction heating furnace to uniformly heat the slab. CONSTITUTION:The heat resistant hearth hardware 6 made of a high-chromium heat resistant alloy having a high m.p. is disposed on the slab imposing surface of a lifting hearth 3 for loading the slab 5 into the vertical type induction heating furnace 1 in this furnace. The hearth hardware 6 is preheated up to the preheating temp. of a high-temp. region in the state of once rising the hearth hardware 6 to the preheating position in the furnace body 2 prior to feeding of the slab 5 at the start of heating and thereafter, the hearth hardware 6 is once lowered and after the slab 5 is accepted, the hearth hardware is again risen to feed the slab into the furnace body 2 where the slab is inductively heated up to the target temp., by which the temp. fall of the contact part with the hearth hardware 6 is surely prevented when the slab 5 is imposed on the heat resistant hearth hardware 6.
