PORTABLE COMPUTER AND METHOD FOR DISPLAYING RESTORED PICTURE BASING UPON RESUMING PROCESSING

PURPOSE:To prevent information from being leaked by a third person in a resuming mode by checking an input password at the time of turning on a power supply in the resuming mode, and displaying resuming-restored picture after completing an input. CONSTITUTION:A CPU 1 temporarily saves picture information restored by resuming processing in a memory 2, and instead of the restored picture, reads out a password input picture from a BIOS memory 3 and displays the picture. When a password is inputted on the picture, a password checking part 6 compares the inputted password with a password stored and registered in a non-volatile memory 7, and when both the password coincide with each other, returns a response corresponding to the coincidence of the passwords to the CPU. At the time of receiving the response, the CPU 1 reads out the resuming- restored picture temporarily saved in the memory 2, sends the read picture to a display part 4, and then displays the resuming-restored picture instead of the password input picture.
