CONSTITUTION:In the hot rolling device of the manufacturing stage of a grain- oriented electrical steel sheet, in the vicinity of the roughing mill of the hot rolling device line in which a slab heating gas furnace 1, vertical roughing mill 2 for edging, roughing mill 3 and continuous finishing mill 4 are successively arranged, a vertical electric slab heating device 10 having a slab carry-in device 11 is arranged. The grain-oriented electrical steel sheet excellent in the quality is obtained by executing the hot rolling of slab at a high temp. as much as possible.
