PURPOSE: To attain superplastic working at low temp. by constituting a dual phase stainless steel of a composition containing specific weight percentages of C, Si, Mn, Cr, Ni, and N and having the balance essentially Fe. ;CONSTITUTION: This superplastic dual phase stainless steel has a composition consisting of, by weight, ≤0.01% C, ≤2.0% Si, ≤2.0% Mn, 15-30% Cr, 5-10% Ni, ≤0.015% N, and the balance essentially Fe and further containing ≤0.5%, in total of, one or more elements among Mo, W, V, Ti, Nb, and Cu. Moreover, the contents of Cr and Ni are controlled to the values in the range where the ratio between the Creq in equation land Nieq in equation II becomes 3.0-3.3. By this method, the objective superplastic dual phase stainless steel can be inexpensively produced.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO&Japio
