COMBUSTOR CAP PRIMARY ASSEMBLY FOR LOW-COST, DRY LOW-NOX COMBUSTOR

PURPOSE: To enable easy removal of a cap from a combustor for service and replacement by providing an outer sleeve, an impingement plate, a single wall nozzle cup, and a plurality of nozzle collars. ;CONSTITUTION: A combustor cap assembly 10 for a gas turbine includes an outer sleeve 12. An impingement plate 14 is fixed to a forward end of the outer sleeve 12, which impingement plate 14 is provided with a plurality of primary fuel nozzle openings 18 and a single secondary fuel nozzle opening 20. A plurality of open-ended nozzle cups 28 are fixed to the impingement plate 14 in alignment with the respective primary fuel nozzle openings 18, and a nozzle collar 32 is fixed to a rearward end of each nozzle cup 28. Thus, the number of component elements per assembly 10 is reduced, and hence the costs of the cap assembly 10 can be curtailed.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO
