PURPOSE: To improve the resistance of hydraulic machinery, the reheaters, heaters or ventilators of coal firing boilers, hydraulic equipment and other equipment members to erosion by sandy water, oils, water drops, steam, slurries, aq. solns., collision of cavitation, impact, machining and scratching effect. ;CONSTITUTION: The high-C-and high-Si-content weld metal powder which contains, by weight %, 0.9 to 2.0% C, 2.0 to 5% Si, ≤10% Mn, 16 to 25% Cr and 5 to 20% Ni in a welding material contg. He as main component 16 to 25% Cr by weight %, contains 6 to 25% Ni+Mn, consists of the balance accompanying inevitable impurities and has 0.2 to 0.7, more preferably 0.22 to 0.67 C/Si ratio is formed by plasma arc welding to form a weld build-up layer having 300 to 400Hv Vickers hardness of the matrix phase and exhibiting the solidified structure crystallized with the multi component carbide consisting essentially of Cr in a network form in the matrix enriched with Si at ≤5mm of weld padding layer in the erosion generation regions on the surfaces of the various equipment members.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO&Japio
