FLOATING DECK-SUPPORTING DEVICE IN FLOATING-ROOF TANK

PURPOSE: To prevent a deck from deforming and from being damaged when exposed to excessive turbulence by fixing the terminating end of each of a first pontoon and a second pontoon placed adjacently to a hollow member elastically and flexibly to the hollow member. ;CONSTITUTION: A hollow member 10 is formed by mutual connection of two vertical elements 10a, 10b. In vertical plates 11a, 11a of the two elements 10a, 10b and at an upper position and at a lower position slots 12, each of which is cut horizontally, are formed. Between the two elements 10a, 10b a hollow sleeve 13 is passed vertically; bolts 14 fixed to the sleeve 13 are passed respectively through the slots 12, each bolt with a washer 15 and a nut tightened thereon. The surface of the terminating end of each of hollow, first and second pontoons 19, 19 is placed adjacently and parallel to one of vertical plates 11b, 11b at the left and the right of the two elements 10a, 10b; a fixing member 20 fixed to each of the terminating ends is attached to the respective vertical plate 11b with a block 21 formed of elastic and flexible material therebetween and tightened by the use of a bolt 16, washer 15, and nut 16.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO&Japio
