APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR TESTING PRINTED BOARD MOUNTED WITH INTEGRATED CIRCUIT WITH NO BOUNDARY SCAN

PURPOSE: To achieve an automatic wire testing of a printed circuit board efficiently employing the conventional type LSI with no boundary scan utilizing a space of the printed board effectively. ;CONSTITUTION: A socket 3 is provided for a printed circuit board 1 LSIs 2 with no boundary scan and a jig LSI4 for testing having a boundary scan circuit, an LSI 5 for testing and the like are mounted on the socket 3. In a test of the wire of the printed circuit board 1, a wire test pattern data applied from a file 9 is applied to the printed circuit board and in a tester 8, an output of the printed circuit board 1 is compared with the results of simulation stored in the file 9 to perform a wire test of the printed circuit board. The LSI for testing herein usable is an LSI 6 or a ZIP type LSI7 with an insertion port for mounting the LSI 12. A terminal of the socket 3 may be connected direct to the tester 8 without use of the LSI for testing to perform a wire test.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO&Japio
