摘要

PURPOSE: To provide a brake member having a high (dynamic) frictional coefficient and made of a carbon composite material of little abrasion. ;CONSTITUTION: A brake member contains 30-65vol.% of carbon fiber, and has a content, a crystallite dimension Lc (002) of a carbon fiber material of 10nm or more by X-rays, elongation elasticity of 40×103kgf/mm2 or more, and thermal conductivity of 110kcal/m.hr.k or more. In the case where the carbon fiber is of a pitch type, a frictional coefficient is 0.25-0.60 when measured at 2.5-25.0m/sec of a relative slide speed with respect to a smooth plan of carbon steel. Carbon fiber obtained at 1950°C or higher of the maximum temperature at the time of carbonization is used as a reinforcing member. The brake member is obtained by carbonizing, at the highest temperatures of 700-1500°C, a carbon forming material having as a matrix carbon precursor, a material of an oil pitch, a coal pitch, a phenol resin or a furan resin.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO&Japio
