PURPOSE: To handle a dot string in parallel with the (y) axis, to reduce the memory area, and to shorten the operation time. ;CONSTITUTION: Coordinates (x_i, y_i) of a dot string on a two-dimensional plane are extracted (1001), and a line b=-x_ia+y_i on a plane ab for each coordinate point is calculated (1002), and an intersection (a_e, b_e) of respective lines is calculated (1003), and a line d=-y_ic+x_i on a plane cd for each coordinate point is calculated (1004), the line on the plane cd for each coordinate point is calculated and intersection (c_e, d_e) of respective lines is calculated (1005), and y= a_ex+b_e is defined as an approximate formula of the dot string (1007), and x=c_ey+d_e is defined as an approximate formula of the dot string (1007).;COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO&Japio
