PURPOSE: To provide a joint by which the ends of a graphite or carbon electrode are fixedly connected and to eliminate loosening in a wide range of temperature by charging a storage apparatus with a synthetic sticking agent, composed of thermosetting resin which exhibits specific performance under the presence of a catalyst. CONSTITUTION: A phenol resin having a low molecular weight is gradually blended with a powdered hexamine catalyst resin and is heated at a temperature not in excess of a given temperature, and is premixed and cooled, and is injected into a mold of a small cylindrical rod, and is arranged in a storage apparatus of a nipple 1 after solidification. The apparatus 3 is set to alternate with the small rod mold, comprising a sticking agent of the previous composition, based on pitch/tar blended with sulfur. A joint fixes a connection between ends of a graphite or carbon electrode having an end part, including a plated screw- threaded sleeve 2. In this joint, the apparatus 3 is melted at a temperature higher than 60 deg.C in the presence of a catalyst, and forms a liquid phase with a viscosity of less than 2500cP in a temperature range of 90 to 120 deg.C and is charged with a synthetic sticking agent made of thermosetting resin, which is polymerized at a temperature of 120 deg.C or more.
