摘要

PURPOSE:To obtain the titled compound useful as perfume, drugs, etc., in high yield and with industrial advantage, by using a palladium complex compound as a catalyst and subjecting a specific aminoolefin compound to ring formation in the presence of triethylamine in a solvent under heating. CONSTITUTION:An aminoolefin compound shown by formula I (R is H, lower alkyl, alkoxy, alkoxycarbonyl, nitro or halogen; R2 is acetyl, phenylketone or alkoxycarbonyl) is subjected to ring formation under heating in the presence of palladium acetate and a triphenylphosphine acid such as tri-O-tolylphosphinic acid, etc., as a catalyst and of triethylamine as a basic compound to scavenge HBr occurring as a by-product preferably in a solvent such as acetonitrile, etc., at =100 deg.C under pressure to give an indole shown by formula II. USE:A raw material for agricultural chemicals and drugs, especially a raw material for synthesizing alkaloides, etc.
