LEAD GRAIN-CONTAINING GAMMA-RAY SHIELDING MATERIAL AND ITS PRODUCTION

摘要

PURPOSE: To obtain the subject shielding material having excellent strength, appearance, workability and environmental pollution resistance by casting a specific cold-setting polyorganosiloxane composition having γ-ray shielding ability into a mold and curing under a specific condition. ;CONSTITUTION: A cold-setting polyorganosiloxane composition comprising 100 pts.wt. addition type liquid silicone rubber and 600-2,000 pts.wt. lead powder, having γ-ray shielding ability, is cast into a mold of a given shape. Further 100-300 pts.wt. lead powder having 3-10mm diameter based on 100 pts.wt. of the polyorganosiloxane composition are added from the top of executed part of the composition, settled and piled through the composition and then the composition is cured to give the objective shielding material.
