PURPOSE: To remove an organic solvent and dust in water by using a porous hollow fiber membrane made by allowing an oil-absorptive crosslinked polymer composed of a non-cross-linkable monomer containing (metha)acrylate of a specific univalent aliphatic alcohol and a cross-linkable monomer to be carried onto the narrow pore surface of a part of the porous hollow fiber membrane. ;CONSTITUTION: The oil-absorptive porous hollow fiber membrane is constituted by allowing the oil-absorptive cross-linked polymer composed of 100 pts.wt. non-cross-linkable monomer containing (metha)acrylate of 10-16C univalent aliphatic alcohol and 0.001-5 pts.wt. cross-linkable monomer to be carried onto the narrow pore surface of at least one part of the porous hollow yarn membrane.
