PURPOSE: To obtain a 'tatami' (straw matting) which possesses the incombustibility and water impermeability. ;CONSTITUTION: On a 'tatami' floor consisting of an inorganic fiber layer, a wooden layer, incombustible fiber layer, and a sheet which possesses the water impermeability and steam permeability are laminated in succession, and a 'tatami' facing is laid on the outermost layer. Since the sheet which possesses the water impermeability and steam permeability is laid on the upper part of the incombustible fiber layer, the incombustibility can be maintained without deteriorating the hygroscopicity of the wooden layer, and even if the fiber of the incombustible fiber layer is bent and pulverized, the powder is prevented from being exposed on the surface of the 'tatami' facing, and is prevented from being roughened because of the adhesion on the skin and clothes, since the 'tatami' facing and the incombustible fiber layer are shielded by the sheet.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO&Japio
