PURPOSE: To intend simple and effective dissociation of separated ions by modulating the potential field, inside the quadruple pole ion trap, has the frequency component equal to the long time frequency of the ions that were selected. ;CONSTITUTION: A controller 12 provides a program sequence generator, and enable the use of an auxiliary fixed AC frequency generator I 4, and also an auxiliary fixed wide-band generator II 11. Furthermore, an auxiliary tickle frequency generator III 2 oscillates the frequency that is specified by the equation to agree with the long time frequency by the motion of selected parent ions, and interlock to activate the collision of the parent ions.
