PURPOSE: To keep freshness of the subject vegetables during their transportation and preservation by putting broccoli or cauliflower in a closed or a semiclosed container and a carbon dioxide generating agent or further an oxygen generating agent in the container. ;CONSTITUTION: Broccoli and (or) cauliflower are put into a loose semiclosed container made of plastic film, a semiclosed container made of perfolation processed plastic film or a closed container made of plastic film having ≥8000ml/m2 24h and a carbon dioxide generating agent (e.g. dry ice, etc.) is put into the container or a oxygen generating agent is further added in the container and then the container is closed. Freshness of a broccoli and (or) a cauliflower is kept in very good level by keeping ≥2% oxygen concentration and ≥4% carbon dioxide concentration.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO&Japio
