PURPOSE: To obtain a diagnostic reagent by sensitizing recombined RPV-NP on a carrier for diagnosing cattle whether or not the cattle is infected with a rinderpest virus or for confirming the effect of a rinderpest vaccine and its manufacturing method. ;CONSTITUTION: The title reagent is manufactured in such a way that a recombined virus is generated by recombining part of the gene of the nucleopolyhedrosis virus of a night moth having a polyhedral protein structure on a DNA piece obtained by cutting off the 35th base pairing in the 5'-side non-translated area from the DND-sequence coding the nucleoprotein of rinderpest virus and collecting nucleopretein-like protein generated in an insect cell after making the insect cell (Sf cell) to be infected with the generated recombined virus, and then, sensitizing a protein having an antigenic property against an RPV-NP antibody on a carrier as an antigen. Therefore, the protein having a strong antigenic property against the antibody of the nucleoprotein of rinderpest virus and a reagent manufactured by sensitizing the protein to a carrier can be mass-produced. When the reagent is used, in addition, the diagnosis on cattle whether or not the cattle is infected with the RPV virus and discrimination of the effect of an RPV vaccine can be easily and quickly performed at a sample (serum) collecting site without requiring any special equipment and skilled technician.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO&Japio
