Influenza A virus (IAV) is of high concern in the swine industry due to the economic impact it has on all stages of production. IAV causes respiratory disease, decreased weight gain and increased feed conversion in pigs.' Control of IAV is difficult,and piglets in particular play an important role in IAV maintenance and transmission because they can be infected with IAV despite the absence of clinical signs and presence of maternally derived antibodies (MDA).
