METHOD OF TESTING SHORT-CIRCUIT CUT-OFF OF RESISTANCE CUT-OFF TYPE PUFFER GAS CIRCUIT BREAKER

PURPOSE: To perform a test effective for the test of practical performance by connecting a short-circuit generator to two transformers through an input device, sending a current of about 1000A to a resistance contact after carrying the current of several tens KA, and then connecting a voltage source. ;CONSTITUTION: Auxiliary breakers 5, 6 are closed to input an input device 2. A current of several tens KA is carried from the generator 1 to the main contact of a test breaker 12. When opening command is given to breakers 12, 5, the current of about 1000A is carried to a resistance 9 and a resistance contact 8 through a transformer 4 and the breaker 6 at the point where the current of the main contact is O. At this point of time, opening command is given to the breaker 6. The contact 8 is opened later than the contact point. At the point of zero current, the current of the breaker 6 is also interrupted. Thereafter, a voltage source for generating a transient recovery voltage is connected.
