The present invention relates to a capsule containing coloured liquid for indicating the accidental thawing of frozen food. The capsule in question consists of a small cup-shaped element which is hermetically closed by a plug with a high neck which, following freezing of the coloured liquid, is partially expelled from the capsule so that, in the event of accidental thawing of the frozen food, the coloured liquid is able to flow out of the capsule through the slits provided for this purpose in the neck of the plug.
