Detection and measurement procedure for porcine luteotrophic hormone levels. It comprises: (a) coating the plate with a preestablished quantity of standard hormone and incubation for 16-20 h at 4 degree C (b) antigen-antiserum preincubation of the standard hormone and of the samples to be analysed (c) blocking the residual coupling sites, covering the dishes with bovine seroalbumin (d) addition of primary antigen-antiserum (Ag- Asl) and incubation (e) incubation with dilute biotinylated anti-IgG and avidin-biotin-peroxidase (f) development with orthophenylenediamine in citrate-phosphate buffer with hydrogen peroxide and measurement of the D.O. values obtained at 492 nm. Veterinary clinical application for monitoring the reproductive state of pigs and in research on the reproductive physiology of this species.
