ABSTRACTA process for decolorizing an aqueous sugarsolution by contacting the solution with an adsorbentresin, wherein the adsorbent resin is a macroporouscopolymer being post-crosslinked in a swollen state inthe presence of a Friedel-Crafts catalyst andfunctionalized with hydrophilic groups prior to contactwith the aqueous sugar solution.
