In a reserve bottle for refilling ink into piston-type fountain pens or writing instruments equipped with an ink tank and an ink guide system, a refill container (10) having an appendage (13) with a substantially cylindrical docking section for the fluid-tight reception of a connecting piece on a refillable container of writing liquid, especially for receiving an end section of a piston-type fountain pen (14), or a refillable ink cartridge (15), facing towards the pen, and being closeable by means of a lid part (12) via a screw, plug or clip device, the docking section (13) additionally has a sealing collar for engaging into the neck of the refill container (10), which consists of soft, resilient plastic.
