Improved Data Stream Transmission Method and Data Stream Transmission Data Processing System

A method and system for improved data transfer in a cellular telephone system having multiple assigned voice channels separated by adjacent buffer voice channels are disclosed. Data processing terminals are used to divide a data stream into multiple relatively short data packets, which are sent sequentially in alternating adjacent buffer voice channels. The amount of interference that is minimized by switching from one adjacent buffer voice channel to the next adjacent buffer voice channel in a predetermined and repetitive order as each data packet is transmitted. Synchronization between adjacent data packets may be accomplished by using adjacent buffer voice channels in a predetermined and repetitive order, or by concatenating each data packet with an indication of the next buffer voice channel used. A synchronization packet may also be included in each data packet to allow synchronization between adjacent data packets at the receiver.
