SUBSTANCE: method of monitoring compaction performance of inhomogeneous clayey earth involves determination of density ρ_α and compaction factor R for earth or its fine-grained fraction. Then lower plastic limit W_p is determined and relative humidity of earth is calculated using a K_w=(ρ_s-ρ_α)/(ρ_s·ρ_α·W_p) relation. Using correlation function between R and K_w preliminary derived in the course of investigation process or through trial compaction, compaction factor R is calculated.
