A specified number of corresp. receptions for plug pins (3) and plug sleeves (15) is provided for the trailer vehicle identification. The part of the plug system to be mounted at the trailer vehicle has receptors laid out corresp. to an intended binary code with plug pins (3) or plug sleeves which lie at a common potential. The plug pins or plug sleeves, provided in the trailer vehicle side part (1) for type identification, lie at earth potential. ADVANTAGE - Trailer vehicle types unambiguously identified with coupling to towing vehicle and therewith evaluates type for electronic regulating switching for reversing without manual input.
