The applicator has a container (2) for the liquid mascara on which is an applicator (12) with long handle (11). The applicator and container form a unit containing liquid disinfectant. When the applicator is not in use, it is contained in a hollow cavity (13) not containing mascara and connected to a storage container (22a) for disinfectant. The storage container for disinfectant is positioned in the base (20) of the hollow cavity, from which it is separated by a semi-permeable membrane. The applicator handle has at least two sealing and wiper appliances (15, 16) between which is the wetted area (14). USE/ADVANTAGE - The mascara applicator is easy to manipulate, can be adapted to the quantity of mascara required and avoids contamination of the applicator.
