The camouflage involves the application of large areas of controllable thermal emission which are readily identifiable as an infrared signature by appropriate thermal imaging appts.. The shape, size and orientation of the markings can be changed periodically at particular times of the day or in conformity with an established cycle.The control provides for the signature to be recognisable at all times from the direction of friendly forces, while hostile forces see only the camouflage.
