The plastics eye ring for fitting into a pallet has a cylindrical sleeve with top and bottom flanged ends and a full-length inner bore (47) which has a section (49) of larger dia. changing by a stepped indent (51) into a section (50) of smaller dia. The larger dia. upper section comes to rest on the outside of the lid faces while the smaller section lies on the inside. The larger section is pref. double the size in dia. and depth with regard to the small section. The flange (43) lying on the top side of the lid face is larger than the flange engaging on the inner side.
