The laser system includes an output coupling mirror (2) which has a central part-reflection section (11c), surrounded by an anti-reflection section (12a), and is mounted opposite to a total reflection mirror (1). Inside a stable resonator, between the two mirrors, is contained a laser material (4), amplifying the laser beam (6) up to its output from the output coupling mirror. Pref. the mode of the laser beam in the resonator is determined by the dia. of the output coupling mirror part-reflection section. The system typically meets a specified term related to the curvature radii of the total reflection and the output coupling mirrors and to the resonator length.
