The laser brightness increasing system has an assembly of lasers (LSC1 to LSC4) transmitting in parallel directions. The output beams are focussed (L1) onto a spatial filter (FS) at a focal point (F). The spatial filter is a slot or diaphragm. the output beam is collimated (L2) and passed to a coupling mirror (MC).
