The present invention relates to the production of decorative objects or furniture. The object of the invention is to provide a simple method which makes it possible to obtain directly furniture or decorative objects exhibiting both good mechanical characteristics and an attractive aesthetic appearance. This object is achieved with the aid of a method consisting in analysing the shape of the object to be produced by means of level curves in the direction of the span of the said object, in converting each level curve into a gauge width, in reproducing each gauge width with a material based on cork agglomerate (2) and plywood (1) in order to obtain all of the constituent elements (3) of the object, then in joining these together.
