The food display cabinet has a 'service' side and a 'customer' side. The cabinet has shelves formed of a grille of tubes (26). The cabinet has four uprights (11) to support a canopy (27) that houses the evaporators and fans that produce and deliver cold air round the food displayed on the shelves. The compressor and condenser for the refrigeration are housed in the base of the cabinet, together with the refrigeration controls. The cabinet has movable shutters on the service side to screen the service area but allow access to load food onto the shelves. ADVANTAGE - Maintains more even cooling within cabinet to improve food presentation and hygiene.
