The flexible osteosynthesis pin comprises a rod (1b) with a screw (1a) at one end to engage with the spongy tissue of the superior humeral epiphysis, and an elastic foam spindle at the other to fit between the humeral diaphysis and the outer pillar of the humeral plate. The spindle is sufficiently long to fill the humeral diaphysis completely, and is inserted into the humerus from the elbow through a hole cut by a drill with a one-piece supple and conical bit. USE/ADVANTAGE - For fractures of upper humerus. Reduced need for surgical intervention at level of shoulder, with resulting mutilation and other risks.
