A blanket clamp has one or two bars 3, 4 arranged in the clamping channel 2 of the transfer cylinder 1. The clamping bars have means for fastening the clamping screws 6, 7 against exiting from the clamping channel. This is achieved by locating the head of each clamping screw 6, 7 in a recess 8 offset to one side of the screw so that the other side is a continuous web. The recess is connected to an inclined insertion slot 9, which is blocked when the clamping bar is in place in the channel 2, but the head of the clamping screw 6, 7 is accessible from the end for tightening by way of a bore 10, the diameter of which is smaller than the diameter of the head of the clamping screw 6, 7.
