PURPOSE: To allow accurate and separate study of the casual sequence relevant to the lightning surge and occurrence of trouble in communication units. ;CONSTITUTION: A time signal St indicating the time of abnormal operation of a unit subjected to a lightning surge is delivered from a counter 4 through a comparator 1, a level converter 2, and a timer circuit 3. The counter 4 also delivers a time signal Si indicating the rising time of a lightning surge incoming through a path of an input voltage division circuit 7 - a timer circuit 10. The counter 4 counts a peak signal Ss representative of the peak of a lightning surge incoming through a path of the input voltage division circuit 7, a peak memory circuit 11, an A/D converter 13 - a memory circuit 15 and delivers an output in response to the time signal St, Si. The counter 4 also counts a wave front signal Su representative of the wave front of a lightning surge incoming through the input voltage division circuit 7, the peak memory circuit 11, a comparator 12, a pulse generating circuit 18, an F/F circuit 19, and an AND gate 24 and delivers an output in response to the time signal St, Si.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
