PURPOSE: To provide a production method capable of producing the subject compound in high yield by oxidizing an isopropylnaphthalene-based compound, etc. ;CONSTITUTION: In producing a peroxide reaction product containing an isopropylnaphthalene peroxide-based compound by oxidizing an isopropylnaphthalene-based compound, with molecular oxygen, the reaction is carried out in the presence of a quaternary ammonium salt of the formula (R1 to R4 each is a hydrocarbon group; X is an anionic group) such as tetrabutylammonium bromide or octyltrimethylammonium bromide at 60-150°C especially 90-110°C under ≥0.1kg/cm2-abs, especially 0.2-0.3kg/cm2-abs. Especially β-isopropylnaphthalene or 2,6diisopropylnaphthalene is preferable as the isopropylnaphthalene-based compound applicable as the starting raw material. The amount of the quaternary ammonium salt used is 1-200millimol/kg, preferably 5-100millimol/kg.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
