PRODUCTION OF 1,4-DIAMINO-2,3-DICYANOANTHRAQUINONE

PURPOSE: To industrially advantageously produce 1,4-diamino-2,3- dicyanoanthraquinone in high yield without using a quaternary ammonium salt or a quaternary phosphonium salt. ;CONSTITUTION: 1,4-Diaminoanthraquinone-2,3-disulfonic acid or its salt is reacted with a cyanating agent in a mixture of a neutral organic polar solvent and water to afford 1,4-diamino-2.3-dicyanoanthraquinone. 1,4- Diaminoanthraquinone-2,3-disulfonic acid which is a raw material or its salt can be obtained by reacting a 1,4-diamino-2,3-dihalogenoanthraquinone with a sulfonating agent in a mixture of a neutral organic polar solvent and water and the compound is advantageously subjected to the following reaction with a cyanating agent without isolating the compound.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
