THROUGHPUT SHAPING DEVICE, EXCHANGE SYSTEM, AND THROUGHPUT SHAPING METHOD

PURPOSE: To apply the method to a high speed broad band system by latching packets in the order of input and shifting a packet whose transmission is discriminated to be disable based on an upper limit of a throughput to a tail end of the latched packets. ;CONSTITUTION: The shaping device is provided with a circulation section 1 to circulate packets to await a packet, a transmission selection section 2 selecting a packet to be sent among input packets and circulated packets, an input order number management section 3, an output order number management section 4 and a number of times management section 5. When a packet is received by the circulation section 1, the input order number management section 3 makes input packet arrival processing latch received packets in the order of the arrival. Furthermore, the transmission selection processing section 2 discriminates whether or not the packet is a packet to be sent based on the upper limit of the throughput and shifts the packet to the tail end of the latched packets to await the transmission of the packet discriminated not to be sent.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
