PURPOSE:To suppress the formation and expansion of a positive pole at charge/ discharge time by dissolving a metal ion after solid dissolving an ion of metal, except nickel, in nickel hydroxide. CONSTITUTION:Nickel hydroxide of solid dissolving a metal ion is prepared, and the solid dissolved metal ion is an ion except Ni, metal ion of one or two kinds or more of Zn, Cd, Mg, Ca, Mn, Co, Cu, Al. In the case of preparing the nickel hydroxide, nickel sulfate and a prescribed amount of sulfate of the above metals are mixed and dissolved in water, and relating to an obtained water solution, sodium hydroxide is added to perform neutralization reaction. By the reaction at this time, simultaneously with producing the nickel hydroxide, a prescribed amount of the metal ion is fetched in the crystal in a solid dissolution condition. Now when solid dissolved a large amount, a waste time and labor are required for operation at dissolution time, and when dissolved excessively small amount, deformation and expansion of a nickel hydroxide pole manufactured can not be suppressed.
