SCALE INHIBITOR FOR VINYL POLYMER AND METHOD FOR INHIBITING SCALE BUILDUP

摘要

PURPOSE: To inhibit polymer scale buildup by applying a condensate obtd. by condensing pyrogallol and/or phloroglucin with formaldehyde in the presence of an alkali catalyst to the inner wall of a polymerizer before a vinyl monomer is polymerized. ;CONSTITUTION: A condensate obtd. by condensing pyrogallol and/or phloroglucin with formaldehyde in the presence of an alkali catalyst is used as a scale inhibitor. The condensate can be used jointly with an acidic compd. and/or fine metal oxide particles; when jointly used, the condensate cross-links, becoming insol. in the reaction solvent and hence remarkably inhibiting polymer scale buildup. Examples of the acidic compd. are an org. sulfonic acid such as p-toluenesulfonic acid and an org. carboxylic acid such as acetic acid. Examples of the metal oxide are aluminum oxide, iron oxide, and silicon oxide.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
