PURPOSE: To provide a method for confirming a product formed by an acidophilic sporulating bacterium and further simply confirming the presence of the acidophilic sporulating bacterium. ;CONSTITUTION: This method for detecting an acidophilic sporulating bacterium in a preserved food is to add an aldehyde to an acidic culture medium and confirm the presence of a product from the aldehyde with the acidophilic sporulating bacterium in a method for adding the acidic preserved food to the culture medium, carrying out the culturing and thereby detecting the bacterium in the preserved food.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
