TAN 1746 COMPOUNDS, THEIR PRODUCTION AND USE THEREOF

PURPOSE: To obtain a TAN-1746 compound exhibiting excellent antitumor activity and useful as an agent for the treatment of malignant tumor of man or mammals by culturing a microorganism which belongs to the genus Verticillium and capable of producing TAN-1746 in a medium. ;CONSTITUTION: This TAN-1746 compound which is a new compound expressed by formula [R is an (acylated)hydroxyl group] and useful as a therapeutic agent for malignant tumor can be produced by inoculating a microbial strain which belongs to the genus Verticillium and capable of producing TAN-1746 compound (e.g. Verticillium chlamydosporium FL-36581 strain) to a medium, culturing at 28°C for 48 hr on a reciprocating shaker, transplanting the obtained seed culture liquid to a medium in a stainless steel tank, culturing under aeration and agitation at 28°C for 6 days, filtering the culture liquid, extracting the filtrate with ethyl acetate, removing the solvent from the extract by distillation and purifying the product by silica gel chromatography.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
